Blog Numero 4- Final Thought

My book was a very interesting book. Anise had up and downs throughout the whole novel. The novels ending was a good way to tell the readers that Anise was doing well and was changing her ways. Anise was in front of her peers and she had a poster of when she was super skinny and she told her peers that she did not want to be that person anymore, she didn't want anything to do with that girl in the poster. She then started to throw things at the poster. I thought that was a good way to tell the readers.

Gravity Journal was a book related towards teenagers because some teenagers at least know someone at their school or one of their friends that are very cautious towards their weight. I personally know someone that thinks she is fat when she is the skinniest person I know. I personally liked the novel because it wasn't just based on Anise. The author was able to incorporate more conflicts, therefore that book wasn't just based on Anise's illness. I also think that their should be a part 2 to the novel. I think this because it would get the readers hooked. It would be nice to know if Anise ever got hospitalised again or if someone else in her family had a major problem to deal with just like she did. Over all the novel Gravity Journal was a really good novel to read.

blog numero 3- Conflict

The main character Anise has over passed alot of problem throughout the novel. In the last section of the novel she was finally given a pass to get released for one weekend. It was her birthday weekend. She was with her parents at dinner and also her boyfriend Boyd. All of a sudden her brother Marcel came in high as a kite and also drunk asking for money from his parents. I find that this has been one of the biggest problems. Anise has finally had a chance to be free from the hospital for a weekend and her brother comes home and ruins everything for her. She then wrote in her journal deciding whether or not to leave and go back to the hospital or to start cutting again because she couldn't handle all the stress.

Another time was her second release from the hospital from the weekend. She had to attend a funeral in Calgary. The girl that had died was also anorexic. She died from the same illness that Anise now has. It was really hard for Anise to think about her life and having a positive attitude. She kept writing her journal that she deserved to die because Ivana had passed away too. In my opinion that was the hardest decision Anise had throughout the whole novel. She was deciding whether or not to take her own life just because someone else she knew had died from the same illness.

would think about taking your own life just because someone close to you died from the same thing you have? or would you try your best to get better and get some help and over come this illness?

Blog #2

My main characters name is Anise. Anise has alot of problems with her self, she thinks she is fat, when she's actually is really skinny. Anise's personality is very interesting. She writes in her journal alot. Rather than telling someone her problems she just writes it in her journal. Anise's thoughts always change every chapter. At one point she might be thinking about stopping the vomitting and cutting because it would benefit her own life if she stopped. Other times shes very negative and wants to die. I think that she is a very confused young lady. She has alot of things on her mind, and doesn't know what she wants. Anise has many weaknesses they are, cutting her self, vomitting after she eats, and thinking of her self in a negative way. Anise doesn't really interact with anyone, but when i started reading into the second section of my book she was starting to become very open with different people. I think that after she thought about what she was doing at the hospital she started to realise that everyone was there to help her with her illness, and started talking to her teachers and doctors. Anise seems to be a very caring person, and she wants to always be helping other people when shes in the hospital to be helped herself.

Do you think that its right for someone that is in the hospital getting treated for an illness be worried about helping other people when they are the ones that need help ?

My book is Gravity Journal. It was written by Gail Sidonie Sobat. The book is about a teenage girl named Anise. She has anorexia. Her parents don't care at all about her. She was sent to a hospital, and put in the psycho ward. Anise has major problems, at the beginning she was cutting her self in her washroom because she thinks she is fat. When she arrives at the hospital she weighs 44 kg. Very early in the book she has written in her journal that she wants to commit suicide due to the fact that she thinks she is fat. She also cuts. She thinks that cutting her arms will ease away the pain of being fat. Anise often turns to her brother Marcel. Marcel tries to comfort her while she is in the hospital.

My initial reaction to the novel when I started to read was that I thought she was going to kill her self. I thought this because she was in the washroom cutting her self and it didn't explain why she was doing so.

I am really hooked on this novel. I'm shocked that anyone would hurt them selves for something that isn't even true. its fascinating because I don't know what she is going to do next and that keeps me reading on.

If you were in her situation, having this illness, having a family that doesn't care about you, what would you turn to ? who would you turn to ?
